Cantor Colburn LLP, the third largest patent law firm in the United States, has announced the promotion of four of its attorneys across its offices in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Houston, and Hartford. This move comes as the firm seeks to further its success and steady, profitable growth in the new year.
Tanmay Dharmadhikari, Usha Parker, and Ian M. Wasser, Ph.D. have been promoted to Counsel, while Dennis Jakiela, Ph.D. has been elevated to the position of Senior Patent Agent.

Tanmay Dharmadhikari, who works closely with clients to strategize the protection and monetization of their creative endeavors, has a background in software development and programming. His legal expertise spans the fields of telecommunications, Voice-over-IP, lighting control systems, Internet-based solutions, and television broadcast, among others.
Usha Parker, with her 14 years of experience as an electrical engineer, focuses on patent prosecution of electrical and some mechanical technologies. Her experience includes prosecution of communication systems and infrastructure, drilling technologies, power generation systems, semiconductor devices and processing systems, and medical devices.
Ian M. Wasser, Ph.D., a registered patent attorney, specializes in the chemical arts with a focus on polymers, materials science, and nanotechnologies. He serves clients who are developing thermoplastic and thermoset polymers, high performance specialty chemicals, electronic materials including LED and semiconductor materials, automotive technologies, medical devices, and rechargeable batteries.
Dennis Jakiela, Ph.D., a patent agent with a degree in synthetic organic chemistry, concentrates his practice on engineering thermoplastics, thermosets, coatings, and green manufacturing processes for global chemical companies. He holds 18 patents in light stabilizer technology and chemical manufacturing processes.
